How to get your A** Kicked

This kid grew up in Pennsylvania, most of his life he worked for his Dad doing manual labor and then when he snagged a job of his own it was manual labor.

Digging ditches, moving stones, carrying bags of who knows what – he never lifted weights, at least not the kind of weights you would find in a gym.

His dad owned a barn and in that barn was a 20 ft. climbing rope.

At age 7 he was already climbing the rope and by the time high school came around he was climbing that rope 5, 6 or 7 times throughout the day. No legs were used, all upper body.

When he wrestled others his physical strengths were overbearing to his opponents. Noone ever felt such strength and stamina and he literally took the energy right out of his opponents, that’s how dominating he was.

By the time he was in his 30’s he still did the same style of “workout” – lots of stone lifting, rope climbing, truck pushing and playground workouts – pull ups mainly, but also jumping onto and over benches and picnic tables.

My buddy and I wrestled this guy when we were in high school and he was in his mid 30’s

We thought he was an old man, washed up, after all, he was twice our age, right?

We got our a**es kicked, and handed to us.

He did something right!

Until the next time,

Train smart and train hard!

Don't Underestimate the Power!

Don't underestimate the power of bodyweight training / claisthenics!

I see more and more people, from teenagers to adults who can not do 10 perfect push ups, 1 perfect pull up, 1 deep squat, 1 lunge without failling over or having flexibility issues, or one.....

Well, the list goes on and on!

Looks to me like we need to go BACK and start where we must start....and, we cna continue to intensify these movements as we get stronger, but for now, we need to get some basics down and you can find all this at the local playground!
1) recline rows under parallel bars
2) push ups
3) bear crawling - flat surfaces, up and down hills / stairs
4) sprinting - flat surfaces, up hills / stairs
5) jumping onto or over benches / tables
6) hanging leg raises / knee tucks while holding monkey bars
7) hand wlaking on monkey bars
8) pole climbing
9) hand walking on parallel bars
So, what am I telling you to do?
Start moving like an animal....start moving like a kid.....
ever see little kids at playgrounds?
They tear that shit up!
Can you keep up with them? All the jumping, running, chasing, climbing.....
If you can't move your body then you're not doing yourself justice.
Take my advice and get busy!
